Rev. Robert Martin Fritchey (52), loving husband and father of four wonderful children, received his ultimate healing and entered the presence of God on Friday, August 27th, 2021. Robert was born on December 19, 1968 in Glynn County, Georgia. On August 12, 1989 he married Sonja Carol Christensen Fritchey and was happily married for 32 years. He received his bachelor’s degree from Jackson College of Ministries in 1991 and was a licensed minister with the United Pentecostal Church International for 32 years. Robert had a passion for children’s ministry and was a children’s evangelist from 2006-2012, helping to lead many children both young and old to the Lord. His love for people of all ages was evident to all those who knew him in his compassionate and patient spirit. He was always willing to lend an ear, provide advice and a helping hand. In addition to being a children’s minister, Robert was also the owner of Maxcare Carpet Cleaning in Raleigh NC, assistant chaplain for the Mount Airy Police Department, assistant pastor of New Life Tabernacle in Roscoe IL and later at The Sanctuary of Mt. Airy NC, and pastor of The Sanctuary of Jonesville NC. He was a man who loved big and was always willing to serve, leaving an unforgettable impact on the lives he came in contact with.
Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Brenda Williams Fritchey. He is survived by his father, Jim Fritchey; his wife Sonja Fritchey; sons Joshua (Rebecca) Fritchey and Christopher Fritchey; daughters Natasha Fritchey and Karaline Fritchey; brother Jim (Tina) Fritchey; sisters, Ann (Donald) Andersen, and Connie (Ricky) Conde; along with several nieces and nephews. Robert’s homegoing celebration will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 3:00 PM at the Sanctuary Church 154 Cornerstone Lane, Mount Airy with Rev. Glenn Dulaney, Rev. Larry Sims, Rev. Wayne Huntley, and Rev. Jeff Hoge officiating. A burial service will follow at The Peoples Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church before the service from 2:00 PM until the service time. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
