Rev. Robert (Bob) Blaine Taylor

Rev. Robert (Bob) Blaine Taylor age 78 of 520 East Devon Street, Mount Airy, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2008 at Forsyth Medical Center. Rev. Taylor was born April 3, 1930 in Surry County son of the late William Rogers Taylor and Connie Coe Taylor, had served as pastor at Imogene Baptist Church for 29 years and was in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Clara McCraw Taylor of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Linda Taylor of Mount Airy and Terry and Tammy Taylor of Mount Airy; five grandchildren and spouses, Misty and Stewart Boyer, Christy and Shawn Partin, Tammy Taylor and Cameron Taylor all of Mount Airy and Rondal and Cheryl Taylor of Advance; three great-grandchildren, Cydney Boyer, Dawson Boyer and Skylar Partin; two step great-grandchildren, Blaine Partin and Jessica Partin and one brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Jean Taylor of Hampton, VA. In addition to his parents, Rev. Taylor was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Dickerson and two brothers, William Taylor and Carl Ray Taylor. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Chapel. The service will be conducted by Rev. David Sparks, Rev. Bob Josey, Rev. Roger Pickett, Rev. Don Collins and Rev. Fred Hawks with burial to follow in New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors by VFW Memorial Honor Guard Mount Airy Post 2019 and Pilot Mountain Post 9436.
