Rev. Darvel Crotts

Rev. Darvel Crotts, 77, of Lowgap, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday night, April 6, 2021, at PruittHealth in Elkin.  Rev. Crotts was born June 5, 1943, in Grayson County, VA the son of the late Theodore Bud and Media Edwards Crotts.  He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lennis Spencer Crotts of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Mary M. and Kenny Swift of Mount Airy and Rebecca Branson and Anthony White of Mount Airy; two sons and daughter-in-law, Darval Daniel Crotts of Dobson and Monroe Paul and Janice Crotts of Lowgap; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nina Felts, and Rebbie Callahan, all of Lowgap; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Rev. Crotts was preceded in death by a daughter, Christine Crotts; a son, Arvin Mark Crotts; five sisters, Betty Jean Crotts, Cecil Callahan, Mary Margaret Crotts, Violet Hawks, and Mary Ruth Goodson; and three brothers, Monroe Crotts, Jim Raymond Crotts, and Odell Edgar Crotts; a brother-in-law, Doug Felts.  A funeral service will be held Friday, April 9, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Joe Atkins and Elder VJ Hawks officiating.  Burial will follow in the Edwards-Upchurch Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Friday from 9:30 until 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
