Rev. Louis Martin, 90, of Hillsville, went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, March 25, 2021. He was born in Patrick County, VA, August 4, 1930, to the late Coy William and Bessie Myrtle Bishop Martin. Rev. Martin was a dedicated Christian man, and a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church. He served as pastor for different churches through the years, retiring from New Beginnings at age 88. He had also retired from the Radford Arsenal after almost 40 years of service. Rev. Martin is survived by his daughters, Jane Martin, Janice Martin, and Lisa Jones; grandchildren and spouses, Michelle King, Glenn Martin, Joy Martin, Tracy and Mitch Midkiff, Shawn and Emily Combs, Brandon Martin, Michael and Rosalia Martin, Brandy Johnson, Haley and Clint James; fifteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sisters, Pauline Webster and Rachel Young; and a brother Carlos Martin. In addition to his parents, Rev. Martin was preceded in death by his wife Fay Bowman Martin; a son, James Louis Martin; and a grandson Eric Lewis King; and brothers, Charles, Wayne, Ralph, and Ozie Martin. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 28, 2021, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Sechrist officiating. Burial will follow at Skyview Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. For anyone that is unable to attend the visitation or service, you are welcome to go by the funeral home on Saturday, March 27, 2021 from 1:00 until 4:00 PM.
