Rex Dale Hawks

Mr. Rex Dale Hawks, 68, of Mt. Airy, husband of Mrs. Carol Lowe Hawks, passed away on Saturday September 29, 2007 at Forsyth Medical Center Select Care after a short illness. He was born in Surry County on January 8, 1939 to the late Garney and Jessie Calloway Hawks. Mr. Hawks was retired from H&W Trucking and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are his devoted wife of 45 years, Carol Lowe Hawks; two daughters and a son-in-law Kathy Hawks of the home and Donna and Dale Bennett of Mt. Airy; a son, Randy Hawks of the home; five very special grandchildren Kindle Hawks, Kyle Hall, Cody Hall, Brian Giles and Nikki Bennett; a sister, Kate Lowe; two sisters-in-in-law Carrie Hawks and Violet Hawks; four nieces; eight nephews and sixteen great- nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hawks was preceded in death by three brothers, Ray Hawks, Paul Hawks and, Billy Gray Hawks; a brother-in-law, Dallas and wife Lorajean Lowe and Atwood Lowe. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday October 2, 2007 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home with services conducted by Rev. Bill Spurlin. Burial will follow in the Round Peak Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm on Monday at Moody-Davis Funeral Home.
