Rex Joel Marion, Sr

Mr. Rex Joel Marion, Sr. age 70 of Mt. Airy, husband of Mary Frances Holder Marion, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Mr. Marion was born in Surry County, June 1, 1937 to Delmar and Carnie McMillian Marion. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and was retired from Carter Utility. Surviving are his loving wife, Mary Frances Holder Marion of the home; a daughter, Elizabeth M. Bray of Topsail Island; a son and daughter-in-law, Rex Marion, Jr. and wife Donna of Dobson; step daughters, Robin Rasmusson and husband Michael of N. Fort Myers, FL; Elizabeth Hyde and husband Mark of High Point; grandchildren, Tara M. Short and husband Chris; Kristi M. Massey and husband Jason; Chyna Blou Bray; great grandson, Keaton Joel Massey; step grandchildren, T. C. Simpson of Dobson; Logan T. Bare; Nolan W. Bare; Aric C. Rasmusson all of N. Fort Myers, FL; Rachel V. Hyde and Sarah E. Hyde both of High Point. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 2, 2007 at Piney Grove Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Jimmy Tucker and Rev. Joe Lambert. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 9:00 until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Ln., Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
