Rex Yancy Sawyers

Mr. Rex Yancy Sawyers, age 74, of Mount Airy, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  He was born May 19, 1944 in Surry County to the late Joseph Glenn and Ethel Irene Johnson Sawyers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmy Sawyers and Willie Gray Sawyers. He is survived by his loving wife, Lynda Jean Simmons Sawyers; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra Sawyers Johnson and Rufus Gray Johnson and Amy Lynn Sawyers Trivette and Kent Trivette; son and daughter-in-law, Rex Allen Sawyers and Beth Ann Simmons Sawyers; grandchildren; Jimmie (Brooke) Johnson, Justin (Linda) Johnson, Jordan (Chris) Bowman, Corbin Trivette, Joseph Sawyers and Joshua Sawyers; great-grandchildren, Juliana Johnson, Calvin Johnson, Maddox Johnson, Phoebe Johnson, Raiden Bowman and Genevieve Johnson; and his brother, Johnnie Joe Sawyers. Visitation will be Saturday, June 30, 2018 from 1-2 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson. The funeral will be at 2 PM in the Moody-Davis Chapel with Gary Sawyers officiating. A private burial will follow in the Johnson Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson NC 27017.
