Ms. Rhumell Hiatt Humphries, age 80, of Mt. Airy, passed away Sunday, December 03, 2017, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born in Surry County on January 10, 1937, to the late Lunie and Sarah Frances Terrell Hiatt. Ms. Humphries was retired from Quality Mills, and was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Pamela “Pam” Reynolds and Jimmy; grandchildren, Sonya Torres, and Jimmy Reynolds, Jr.; great grandchildren, Leticia Thomas, Chelsea Thomas, Serenity Reynolds, and Mario Thomas; sisters, Margaret Frazier, Roberta Whitaker; brothers, Lonnell Hiatt, and James Hiatt. In addition to her parents, Ms. Humphries was preceded in death by a son, Charles Humphries; sisters, Roena Johnson, Dianne Samuels, Sarah Dawson, Hazel Hiatt, Doris Hiatt, Patricia Caudle, and Carrie Macey; and by brothers, Clyde Hiatt, Calvin Hiatt, and Raymond Hiatt. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Bishop John Bradley, and Elder David Culler. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens.
