Richard Estil Dawson

Mr. Richard Estil "Bo" Dawson, 71, of Carrollwood Trailer Park, Cana, VA, passed away Monday, September 24, 2007, at his home. Mr. Dawson was born November 26, 1936, in Patrick County, VA, to the late Winfred Nelson and Nell Tate Dawson. He was a veteran and retired. He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Wayne Dawson and Dean and Sarah Dawson, all of Mount Airy; two grandchildren and a spouse, Kendra Dawson of Mount Airy and Chris and Jennifer Dawson of Pinnacle; and six brothers and three sisters-in-law, Ted and Laura Dawson of Mount Airy, Kerry Dawson of Thomasville, Jack Dawson of Cana, VA, Douglas and Faye Dawson of High Point, Maynard Dawson of White Plains, and Elmer and Sylvia Dawson of Claudville, VA. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dawson was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Dawson and Winfred Dawson, Jr. The funeral service will be held Thursday, September 27, 2007, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Gary Easter, and burial will follow at Willow Hill Moravian Church Cemetery, with military honors conducted by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard Post 2019 of Mount Airy and Post 9436 of Pilot Mountain. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 PM until the hour of the service.
