Richard "Dick" Thomas McPeek

Mr. Richard Thomas McPeek, 87, of Mt. Airy, passed away at Forsyth Medical Center, Saturday, December 26, 2020.  He was born in Bluefield, WV, April 19, 1933, to the late Clyde and Mary Bailey McPeek.  Mr. McPeek bravely served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.  He owned a small antique store with his mother in Akron.   Mr. McPeek was an avid antique collector, raising his children in an adored historical home built 1839.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.  Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years, Edna Barker McPeek; son, Rick (Sarah) McPeek; daughters, Lori (Marty) Skinner, Cindy Sias, Jennifer Toney; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, Mr. McPeek was preceded in death by a grandson, Richard T. McPeek, III.  Due to health concerns at this time, a graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Skyline Memory Gardens with Rev. Alton Bledsoe officiating.  There will not be a formal visitation, although everyone is welcome, to pay their respect at Moody Funeral Home while his body will lie-in-state Wednesday, December 30, 2020 from 11:00 AM until the time to leave for the service.  In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Joy Ranch Home for Children, P.O.
