Richard Guy Harris

Mr. Richard Guy Harris, age 87 of Thurmond, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2018, at his residence. He was born May 4, 1931 in Surry County to the late Hubert Winfield and Annie Mae Crab Harris. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Grady and Olene Harris and Claude and Estelene Harris. Mr. Harris was a member of Knobs Baptist Church, worked for Elkin Furniture and was a farmer. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Cornelia Taylor Harris; daughters, Nancy Harris Snow and Linda Harris Jenkins; son-in-law, Jackie Jenkins; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Mary Harris, Lonnie Ray and Melissa Harris and Johnnie and Mary Beth Harris; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 1-2 PM Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Knobs Baptist Church. The funeral will follow at 2:00 PM with Reverend Justin Norman and Reverend Charlie Bennett officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family would like to thank Mountain Valley Hospice for the care provided for the Harris family.
