Richard Lee Hodges, Jr

Mr. Richard Lee Hodges, Jr., age 59 of Patrick Springs, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2007 in Boone, North Carolina as the result of an automobile accident. He was born in Patrick County on May 29, 1947. He was a member at Providence United Methodist Church, and had served four years in the United States Air Force as a sergeant with one tour in Vietnam. He retired from the Martinsville Sheriff's Department in 2004.
Mr. Hodges is survived by his parents, Richard Lee Hodges, Sr. and Audrey Hall Hodges of Stuart; one brother and sister-in-law, Barry and Dana Hodges of Collinsville; one sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Danny Powell of Martinsville; one nephew, Christopher Hodges of Stuart; three nieces, Amy Tilley and Christy Morrison of Martinsville and Jennifer Hodges of Collinsville; and one great-niece, Anna Elizabeth Tilley of Martinsville
Funeral services for Mr. Hodges will be held Friday at 11:00. a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. David Westmoreland officiating. His services will be held in conjunction with the services of his cousin, Carl Ray Fain. Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens with military rites by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, and at other times at the Richard Hodges, Jr. home in Patrick Springs.
