Richard Lane Inman

Mr. Richard Lane Inman, Sr., 68, of Mount Airy, passed away Monday, February 21, 2011, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mr. Inman was born August 5, 1942, in Surry County, to the late Walter Lee and Iris Dell Chilton Inman. He was a retired driver for Roadway. Mr. Inman is survived by his wife, Sandra Barker Inman of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Linette and Patrick Nixon of Raleigh; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard Lane Inman, Jr. and Debbie Inman of Mount Airy; five grandchildren, Carson Wright Nixon and Cate Elizabeth Nixon, both of Raleigh, and Alexandria Hope Inman, Noah Lane Inman, and Faith Nicole Shumate, all of Mount Airy; two sisters, Betty Charlene Inman of Kernersville and Connie Watts of Colorado; and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Jimmy Raleigh and Rachael Inman and W. Lee Inman, all of Mount Airy. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Keith Love and Brian Shupe officiating. Burial will follow in the Albion Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. Flowers will be accepted.
