Richard Carroll Martin

Mr. Richard Carroll Martin, 68, of Mt. Airy passed away unexpectedly at his Home Monday, September, 13, 2021. He was born in Surry County, October 26, 1952, to the late Lewis Avent Martin and Mary Gertrude Hall Martin. Richard attended Mt. Airy High School, graduating in 1971. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a brother Thomas Martin; and father-in-law, and Jimmy Harbour. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Debbie Harbour Martin; son, Chuck (Anya) Martin, daughter Camille Ellis, stepson David (Caity) Whitaker; grandsons, Maddox Martin, Finn Martin, Gib Martin; granddaughters, Livia Ellis, Gracyn Ellis, Reese Whitaker; brother, George Martin; sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley (Roger) Lynch, Pam (Hank) Miller, Lynn (Junior) Seivers; mother-in-law, Elaine Harbour; sisters-in-law, Marie Martin, Alison (Timothy) Bledsoe, Angela (Mark) Mayfield; and several nieces and nephews. Richard was employed at W.L.A. Inc. until his retirement. His passion was playing golf, watching sports, and spending quality time with his family, friends and two cats. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, September 20, 2021 at Skyline Memory Gardens with Bro. John Hill officiating. Everyone is welcome to pay their respect to Richard at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy on Sunday, September 19, 2021 from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM.
