Richard Raymond Ferguson

Richard R. Ferguson, born July 4, 1956, in Louisville KY, lost his battle with cancer at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC, October 18, 2023. Richard was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Emert and Lizzie Ferguson; maternal grandparents, Raymond and Felicia Gonzales; his father, Louis R. Ferguson; and his sister, Christina M. McGow Cunningham.

            Richard us survived by his mother, Anita A. Ferguson, of Leitchfield KY; one uncle, Michael Gonzales, of San Francisco, CA; a son, Anthony Ferguson; and a daughter, Anita (Mark) Tedesco; three grandchildren, Nevaeh, Luca, and Julian, all of Philadelphia PA; a brother, Louis Ferguson (Elaine) of Denver CO; two sisters, Ruth (Joe) Voll, of Louisville KY, and Robin (Roger) Bohannon, of Leitchfield KY. He is also survived by two nieces, six nephews, seventeen great nieces and nephews, and several cousins; and also his close friends in Dobson, NC, Mary Boles, Peggy Gray, Tim and Lisa Caudle, and Nelson and Mary Lane.  Cremation was chosen, and a memorial service will be held at South Union General Baptist Church, in South KY at 11:00 AM CST, 12:00 EST, on October 28, 2023, with a graveside prayer to celebrate his life with friends and family.
