Richard Lee "Richie" Worrell

Mr. Richard Lee “Richie” Worrell, 39, of Dobson, passed away at his home on Saturday morning December 17, 2022.  He was born in Guilford County on Thursday June 23, 1983, to Janet Lee Key Worrell and the late Terry Ray Worrell, Sr.  He was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend.  Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Janet Lee Key Worrell; brothers and sisters-in-law, Terry Worrell, Jr. and Caroline, Thomas Worrell and Jessica, and David Worrell and Keisha; nieces and nephews, Nathan Gwyn, Nick Worrell, Nathan Worrell, Emily Worrell, Hunter Worrell, Brantley Worrell, and Layla Worrell; several aunts and uncles; and a special caregiver, Amanda Sparks.  In addition to his father, Richard was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Everette Eugene Key and Mary Lee Mayes Key; and his maternal grandparents, Rev. Thomas Ray “Tommy” Worrell and Hattie Loraine “Tinnie” Hawks Worrell.  A service of worship and celebration will be held on Friday December 23, 2022, at 3:00PM at True Vine Baptist Church with the Rev. Dink Haynes officiating.  The family will receive friends on Friday from 2:00PM to 3:00PM at the church.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Worrell family.
