Richard Vestal Martin

Mr. Richard Vestal Martin, age 70, of Dobson, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2024, at his home. He was born February 12, 1954, in Surry County to the late Thomas and Annie Wood Martin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Bob Randolph; his brother, Thomas Martin; and a special Aunt, Mary Wood.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Nancy Stanley Martin; his daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Allen Edwards, Sandy and Jeff Brewer, Sarah Flores, and Carrie Martin (Clayton Johnson); his son, Nathan Martin; grandchildren, Ricky Edwards, William Edwards, Gracie Castro, Emma Brewer, and Sophia Flores; great grandchildren; Riley Edwards, Kayson Edwards, and Cooper Edwards; sister, Patty Folger; brothers and sister-in-law, Tony and Phyllis Martin, and Jasper Martin; and his PSC work family, Terry and Gail Butler, and their children, Blake Butler and Stacy Hauser; many nieces, nephews and special friends that he loved.

Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, and loyal friend to many. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. There will be a private celebration of Richard's life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make any memorials to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105. Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson is serving the Martin family.
