Mr. Ricky Steven Edwards, 54, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday morning, January 22, 2011, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Edwards was born November 17, 1956, in Surry County, the only child born to Shelby McCraw Edwards Lineberry and the late Jonie Cecil Edwards. Ricky was a diesel mechanic with Allied Automotive Group for several years. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sandy Scott Edwards of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Kelly and David Holbrook of Traphill and Amy Edwards of Virginia Beach, VA; a son, Brad Butcher and Laurie Losey of Massillon, OH; five grandchildren, Sidney Butcher, Brandon Butcher, and Bayleigh Butcher, all of Massillon, OH, and Abby Holbrook and Emily Holbrook, both of Traphill; his mother and stepfather, Shelby and Jack Lineberry of Woodlawn, VA; and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Pat Scott, Angie and Greg Puckett, and Steve Scott, all of Mount Airy, Mike and Jane Scott of High Point, and Gary and Penny Scott of Raleigh. In addition to his father, Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Eugene Charles and Ruth Payne Scott. A graveside service will be held Monday, January 24, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Oakdale Cemetery, with the Rev. Wayne Snow officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from noon until 1:30 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Mount Airy Rescue Squad, P.O.
