Ricky Dean Vernon

Mr. Ricky Dean Vernon, 64, of Westfield, passed away at his home Monday, October 15, 2019.  He was born in Rockingham County, NC January 6, 1955 to the late Jesse Walter and Rachel Melinda White Vernon.  Mr. Vernon bravely served in the U.S. Army from 1973 until 1975.  He retired from painting water tanks, although he was talented with various careers; plumbing, mechanic, electrician and carpenter.  Mr. Vernon is survived by his wife, Sonya A. Vernon; step-children, Bradley Reece Anthony and David William Glidewell; five step-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Gloria and Dale Doss, Melinda Vernon; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mark and Pam Vernon, Ken and Melissa Vernon, Jerry and Sonya Vernon, Randy and Frances Vernon, and Mike and Mitzi Vernon.  A private service will be held.  Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
