Mrs. Rita Faye France Farmer, 67, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday morning, December 5, 2021, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Farmer was born December 13, 1953, in Surry County, the daughter of the late Raffis Presley and Gertie Sechrist France. Rita retired as a senior project manager from Resource Plus and was a member of Joylight Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, George Howard Farmer of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Damien and Kelsey Haynes of King; three grandchildren, Krystyn Haynes, Damien “DJ” Haynes, Jr., and Daylan Haynes; two stepgrandchildren, Kallie Whitaker and Khloe Whitaker; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Callie Nixon of Dobson and Joyce King, Lois and Ray Rogers, and Pete Burchette, all of Mount Airy; two brothers, Gurnie France and his friend, Gail, of Newport News, VA, and Edgar France of Mount Airy; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Farmer was preceded in death by a sister, Evie Burchette; and four brothers, Dillard France, Lefty France, Larry France, and Gary France. A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 9, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Skyline Memory Gardens, with the Rev. Dale Bass officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:00 until 1:30 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
