R.J. Wilhite

Mr. R.J. Wilhite passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family on October 24, 2022.  He was born October 24, 1949, in Surry County to the late Ramey Wilhite and Winonia Hiatt Wilhite.  R.J. retired from I.L. Long Construction and was a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church.  He loved his wife and all his family, but his daughter and granddaughter were the “apple of his eye”.  Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Betty; a daughter, Renee Greeson; a granddaughter, Courtney Greeson; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Bonnie and David Hawkins and Martha Eaton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Danny and Alice Wilhite and Joe and Phyllis Wilhite.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilhite was preceded in death by a brother Frankie Wilhite; and a brother-in-law Steve Eaton.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 28, 2022, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rusty Reed and Rev. David Hawkins officiating.  Burial will follow at the Midkiff Family Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 noon until the time of the service.  Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Flat Rock Baptist Church, P.O.
