Robbie Jean Sprinkle Houston

Mrs. Robbie Jean Sprinkle Houston, 74, of Dobson, widow of Warren J. Houston, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, October 15, 2007 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center while surrounded by loving family. She was born in Madison County N.C. on December 28, 1932 to the late Roscoe and Vera Bruce Sprinkle. Mrs. Houston was homemaker and a member of Grapevine Baptist Church and faithfully attended Blues Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include her loving daughter Sherrie Houston of Dobson and fiance Joseph Marino of Bedford, VA.; four grandchildren, whom she adored, Chad and wife Emily Holder, Chase and wife Amber Holder, Jarrett Holder and Michaela Holder of Dobson; a great-grandson Reece Holder; two sisters and three brothers-in-law Lucille and Kenneth Poindexter of Dobson, Ann and Harold Payne of Ashville, D.C. Houston of High Point; a sister-in-law Louise Houston; special niece and nephews Judy and husband Tim Snow, Davy Ramsey, Ryan and wife Sherri Payne and Lynn and Debbie Houston. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday at Blues Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Sammy Lawson officiating. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm Thursday at Blues Grove Baptist Church where her body will remain until the hour of the funeral service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Blues Grove Baptist Church Building Fund 3096 Red Brush Road Mt. Airy, NC 27030. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to their numerous friends, neighbors and church family for all their thoughtfulness and the many prayers offered up during this difficult time.
