Robert "Bobby" Cagle

Mr. Robert “Bobby” N. Cagle, 87, of Mt. Airy, passed away Monday, November 22, 2021. He was born in Carroll County, VA, August 30, 1934, to the late Grady Jones Cagle and Fred Cagle. Mr. Cagle was well known throughout the community, a kind man with gentle tone. He worked with many different orchardists and produce companies during his career, and he was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church. Left to cherish his memory, are his son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Angie Cagle; daughters and son-in-law, Melody Cagle, Amelia and Doug Odell, Kaye and Ronnie Doss, grandchildren and spouses, Austin and Taylor Newman, Lenzi Cagle, Justin and Tania Dunlap, Maggey Odell, Evann Shelnutt, Jesi Shelnutt; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cagle was preceded in death by his wife, Runelle Cagle; a daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Joey Newman; and a daughter Cindi Wheeler; sisters, Bertie Tucker, Beulah Golds, Josie Shelton, Forrest Easter; brothers, Money, Luther, and Clinton Cagle. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Anthony Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Epworth United Methodist Church in Cana. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
