Mr. Robert William Brinkley, Sr. age 74 of 569 Charlie Norman Road, Mount Airy, husband of Pat Branch Brinkley passed away on Friday, May 11, 2007 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Brinkley was born in Richmond, VA on August 14, 1932 son of Beulah Jessup Brinkley and the late Coley Brinkley. He was the owner of Brinkley Home Improvement, a member of New Hope Baptist Church and was a veteran of the US Navy. Surviving are his wife, Pat Branch Brinkley of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Denise and Tom Muncy and Donna and Mitchell Owens all of Greensboro; one son, Robert W. (Bobby) Brinkley, Jr. of Mount Airy; step daughter, Karen Hylton and husband Jerry of Dobson; two step sons, Tom Branch and wife Susie of Dobson and Bobby Branch of Ararat; six grandchildren; three step grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; his mother, Beulah Jessup Brinkley of Pilot Mountain; two sisters and brother-in-law, Sue and Billy Cook and Julia Vipperman all of Pilot Mountain and three brothers and sisters-in-law, Dan and Shirley Brinkley, Rev. Eugene and Rhonda Brinkley and Stanley and Carolyn Brinkley all of Pilot Mountain and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, Mr. Brinkley was preceded in death by his first wife, Sylva Pauline Brinkley and a sister, Joyce Perryman. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 14, 2007 at 11:00 AM at New Hope Baptist Church. The service will be conducted by Rev. Trent Lyons and Rev. Richard Loman with burial to follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at New Hope Baptist Church on Sunday night from 6:00 to 8:30 PM.
