Robert Torkel Browning

Mr. Robert Torkel Browning, 61, of 191 Monroe Road, Mount Airy, passed away Friday, May 24, 2013, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Browning was born September 4, 1951, in Wyoming County, WV, the son of the late Torkel and Viola Burnett Browning. Robert was a welder for many years. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Lucion Browning of the home; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Denise and Lesley Bailey and Patricia and Matthew Bolen, all of Mount Airy, and Heather Browning of the home; two grandchildren, Amanda Bailey and Ariel Bailey, both of Mount Airy, three great-grandchildren, Zachery, Bella, and Lexi; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Charles Tilley of Glen Daniel, WV; a brother, Jimmy Dale Browning of Pineville, WV; and a stepbrother, Samuel Browning of Ravencliff, WV. In addition to his parents, Mr. Browning was preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Tilley and Deborah Browning; and a stepsister, Jean Tilley. The family will greet friends and family to celebrate Robert's life on Thursday, May 30, 2013, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Faith Baptist Church in Matheny, WV. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is in charge of the cremation and serving the family.
