Mr. Robert Ray Crisp, 77, of Mount Airy, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, December 12, 2018, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Mr. Crisp was born in Union County, NC, to the late George Ray and Ethel Starnes Crisp. Mr. Crisp was a member of Masonic Lodge #749 in Monroe NC and a lifelong member of the NRA. He was also a proud member of the “Old House Gang”, Mr. Crisp had an unyielding compassion for others. He never met a stranger and his kindness and generosity was felt by everyone who knew him. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Mary Crisp; daughters and sons-in-law, Shannon and Brad Putnam, Kelly and Greg Eason; grandchildren, Jessica Joyner and her husband Ryan, Taylor Sechrist and her husband Daniel, Jacob Eason; “adopted grandchildren” Allen “Buckshot” Plyler and Brad and Will Plyler; brother and sister-in-law Brent and Carol Crisp, his “favorite child” his dog Ellie. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 17, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church in Mt. Airy with services conducted by Rev. Alex Martin. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 314 S. Franklin Rd., Mt Airy NC 27030 or to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 745 Zephyr Rd., Dobson, NC 27017.
