Robert William Draughn

Mr. Robert William Draughn, age 77 of Dobson, passed away on Saturday morning September 20, 2008 at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro, NC. He was born in Wytheville County Virginia to the late Vance Michael Draughn and the late Pauline Elizabeth Beecraft Draughn. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Audrey Fortner Draughn; sister Francis Draughn; brother Paul Randolph Draughn. He was a retired Supervisor for LE Myers Inc. Surviving are his daughters and son-in-law Patty Draughn Gonzalez and Genaro Gonzalez of Dobson; Cheryl Draughn Saucedo of Willis Va.; sons and daughter-in-law Dewey Michael Draughn and Sheila Draughn of Pilot Mtn. and Timothy Draughn of Dobson; adopted daughter Jan L. Lancaster of Dobson; eight grandchildren Robert William Draughn Koehl, Wesley Allen Schiermeister, William Jared Schiermeister, Gayle Marie Lanier and her husband Perry Lanier, Trevor James Bolas, Timothy Michael Draughn, Audrey Anna Draughn, Toby Lancaster; one great grandchild David James Lanier; sister and brother-in-law Joyce and Oswald Schmidt of Dobson; brother Vance Michael "Micky" Draughn Jr. of Dobson. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday September 23, 2008 at the Dobson United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Lonnie Kendall conducting the service. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson on Monday evening from 7 until 9 PM. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Foothills Food Pantry PO Box 1065, Dobson, NC 27017.
