Robert Mitchell Frans

Mr. Robert “Bob” Mitchell Frans, 65, of Pilot Mountain, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at Duke University Hospital. Bob was born December 1, 1951, in Surry County, to Frances Mitchell Frans and the late Robert Earl Frans. He was predeceased by his brother, Eddie William Frans. He is survived by his loving family, including his mother; his wife of 45 years, Charlotte Cox Frans; a daughter, Kelly Frans Moore and son-in-law, Drue Alan Moore; a son, Robert Scott Frans and daughter-in-law, Emily Holleman Frans; his three grandchildren, Miles Willard Moore, Cole Drue Moore, and Harper Ophelia Frans; and many other much loved family members. Bob’s enthusiasm for life and love for his family and friends were evident to everyone who knew him. He was known for his smile, laughter, and kindness to others. He made many lifelong friends at JP Stevens in Westfield, where he retired after 30 years as Vice-President of Human Resources. He was an avid sports fan, dedicated to the Wake Forest Demon Deacons and the New York Yankees. Many of his happiest days were spent on the golf course with his golfing buddies. But his greatest joy came from time spent with his family, especially with Miles, Cole and Harper. They were the light of his life and God’s greatest blessing to him. His faith was strong and always brought him much peace and comfort. A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held Friday, November 10, 2017, at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church in Mount Airy. The Rev. Gene Sherrill and the Rev. Walker Armstrong will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
