Robert Harden Fultz

Mr. Robert Harden Fultz, 85, of 1287 Newsome Street, Mount Airy, passed away Friday, December 21, 2007, at Central Continuing Care. Mr. Fultz was born December 16, 1922, in Stokes County, to the late John W. and Surilda Booth Fulk. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. Fultz was a self-employed painter and a member of Mount Airy Wesleyan Church. He is survived by four daughters and a son-in-law, Vivian J. Patterson, Mary Fultz, and Sandra Fultz, all of Mount Airy, and Wanda and Rodney Hawks of Lowgap; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Johnny Fultz of Pilot Mountain, Tommy and Barbara Fultz of Lowgap, Dennis and Mary Fultz of Las Vegas, NV, and Matthew Fultz of Dobson; fifteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a sister, Margie Fulk McCreary of Mount Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Fultz was preceded in death by his wife, Hattie Leona Sizemore Fultz; a grandson, Kevin Andrew Fultz; a sister, Minnie Fulk Pruitt; and six brothers, Henry Fulk, Jesse L. Fulk, Pearson Fulk, Fletcher Fulk, Vester Fulk, and Chester Fulk. The funeral service will be held Sunday, December 23, 2007, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Richard Loman and the Rev. Todd E. Byrd, and burial will follow at Carters Chapel Church Cemetery in Ararat, VA, with military honors conducted by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard Post 2019 of Mount Airy and Post 9436 of Pilot Mountain. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, and other times at the home of Vivian J. Patterson, 105 Wombat Lane, Mount Airy.
