Robert Lee Gwyn Sr.

Mr. Robert Lee Gwyn, Sr., 72, of Cana passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on July 12, 1946 to the late Jess Lee and Rosabell Gwyn Gwyn.  Mr. Gwyn was a retired Welder from L.S. Starrett Company and proudly served our country in the U.S. Army.  He is survived by his wife, Zettie Tate Gwyn; a daughter, Olivia Dalton; sons and daughter-in-law, Robert Lee Gwyn, Jr. and wife Stacy, L.J. Gwyn; grandchildren, Bradley Dalton, Tequilla Dalton, Lexus Dalton, Acosha Gwyn, and Sebastian Gwyn; a great grandchild, Draven Lee Wagoner; sisters, Julia Gwyn, Christine Tate, Hazel Gardner, and Mae Easter; brothers and sisters-in-law, Vestal Jake Tate and wife Kathy, David Tate and wife Brenda; sister- in-law, Joyce Tate Special friends, Kelly Goad, Jamie Gammons, Michelle Fulp, Mattie Lane.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Gwyn was preceded in death by sisters, Minnie Branson, Ernestine Gwyn, Mary Alice Gwyn, and Anne Jane Gwyn; a brother, Paul Gwyn..  A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ray Fleming, Rev. C.L Crotts and Rev. Bobby Steel officiating.  Burial will follow in Rocky Ford Christian Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mt Airy. The family request that in lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Carroll Special Olympics c/o Vickie Richie Po Box 173 Hillsville VA 24343. The family would like to say thank you to Intrepid USA Health services of Virginia for their kindness and help given during the illness of Mr. Gwyn.
