Robert Patterson Hawks

 Mr. Robert Patterson Hawks, age 85, of Lowgap, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  He was born in Surry County on July 16, 1937 to the late Robert McCoy and Gladys Wood Hawks.  Robert loved spending time with his family as well as fishing, hunting and gardening.  Robert was a long-time member of Ladonia Baptist Church.  Left to cherish his memory are his fiancé, Norma Jean Cooke Wright; children, Debbie Dezern (Steven), Tracy Hawks (Brenda), Pamela Davis (Adam); grandchildren, Melissa Welch (Brandon), Kristy Hawks (Kent Martin), Mindy Marion, Dallas Davis, Bart Mathis, Samantha Jennings (Shane), Lindsey Powers; great-grandchildren, Sena Hawks, Dannie Welch, Charlee Welch, Kendall Welch, Etta Marion; brother, Bobby Hawks, bonus grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Hawks was preceded in death by his wife, Sena Wright Hawks; sister, Elizabeth Ramey, brother, Ray Hawks.  A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 29 2022, at 11:00am at Ladonia Baptist Church with services conducted by Rev Tony Holder.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Monday, November 28 2022, from 6-8pm at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.  The family would like to say a special thanks to Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital ER Department, the ICU Staff, as well as the staff of the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, caretakers, Michelle, Lisa, and Amanda.
