Robert Samuel Haynes

Mr. Robert Samuel Haynes, 81, of Mt. Airy passed away Friday, December 17, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Haynes was born in Carroll County on February 2, 1940, to the late Jerry and Treva Hall Haynes. Mr. Haynes retired from Sara Lee where he was a lead mechanic. After his retirement he was a valued employee of Napa Auto Parts of Mt. Airy. Mr. Haynes proudly served our country in the United States Army. He is survived by his wife, Doris Hiatt Haynes; daughters and son-in-law, Rhonda Felts and Tim Combs, Pamela and Kevin Rorrer; grandchildren, Kari Powell, Jaret and Haley Rorrer, Levi Rorrer; a brother and sister-in-law, Junior and Darlene Haynes; many special nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Haynes was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Odell and Violet Haynes. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kelly Haynes officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Hill Moravian Church Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
