Robert DeVoyne Smith, II

Mr. Robert "Bobby" DeVoyne Smith, II, 53, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2010, at his home. Mr. Smith was born March 16, 1956, in Topeka, KS, to Robert D. Smith and Anna Lorene Ferguson Smith. He served our country in the 82nd Airborne, Special Forces, in the United States Army. Surviving are his wife, Sally C. Smith of the home; daughters, Nicole of Ararat and Brittany Hale and her fiance, Jake McRoberts, of Mount Airy; grandchildren, Jada "Pooter" Dean and Cayden "Boo Boo" McRoberts; his parents, Robert D. Smith and Anna Lorene Ferguson Smith of Winston-Salem; a sister and brother-in-law, Debi and Jim McManus of Pinnacle; a brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Jessica Smith of DeLand, FL; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Rachel Nance and Jesus Perez of Cana, VA; several nieces and nephews; and many loving friends. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, February 4, 2010, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Ted Crotts officiating. Burial will follow in Peoples Church Cemetery, with military honors by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
