Robert Filder Jones

Mr. Robert Filder Jones, 62, of Mount Airy, passed away peacefully on Tuesday afternoon, January 18, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Jones was born December 6, 1959, in Surry County, to Albert M.F. Jones and the late Marie Vernice Sumner Jones. He enjoyed playing his guitar, fishing, and woodworking. His joking and pranks will be missed by all. He is survived by his father and stepmother, Albert M.F. and Judy Jones; a son, Eric Jones; a daughter, Nicole Jones and her fiancé, Austin Phillips; two granddaughters, Brooklyn Jones and Parker Phillips; a sister, Marie K. Rogers; and a special nephew, Lane Rogers. Also surviving are his special aunts and uncles, Claudine and Sherman Jones, Wanda and Allen Goodson, Dorothy Sumner, and Gene Mosley; along with several cousins. In addition to his mother, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by a grandson, Cayden Seth Morton. The family will have a private visitation, and a celebration of life service will be held at a later date at Mount Hope United Methodist Church in Fries, VA.
