Robert Keith Love

Rev. Robert Keith Love, age 79, husband of Mrs. Volenda Cook Love of 691 Tom’s Creek Church Road, Pilot Mountain, NC passed away Thursday, June 30, 2016 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born October 15, 1936 in Surry County to the late Bernie Clyde and Virginia Collins Love. Rev. Love was a Baptist Minister, a loving husband, father and grandfather and most of all he loved his heavenly father. Rev. Love was ordained in 1970. He served as supply pastor of Indian Grove Baptist Church, and as full time pastor of Albion Baptist Church in Mt. Airy for 6 years, Second Baptist Church in Cherryville for 26 years and Woodville Baptist Church for 13 years. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Volenda C. Love of the home, two daughters and sons-in-laws, Cynthia and Baxter Starr of Gastonia, NC, Nancy and Bobby Wilson of Bessemer City, NC, two sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Jane Love, Kingman, AZ, Terry and Marci Love of Cherryville, NC, eight grandchildren and spouses, Gregory Love, Jr. and Lillie, Jay Love, Donnie and Erica Love, Andy Wilson and Michelle, Mark Wilson and Kia, Alison Kirk and Donnie, Adam Starr, Rachel Starr and fiancé, Stefan Marquardt, five great grandchildren, mother-in-law, Viola Gammons Hiatt of Mt. Airy, two sisters and a brother-in-law, Geraldine Inman of Mt. Airy, NC and Alice and R.W. Goins of Westfield, NC. In addition to his parents, Mr. Love was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Granville Cook, step father-in-law, Reid Hiatt and two brothers-in-law, Arlis Cook and Delmer Inman. Funeral services will be held 3:30 pm Sunday, July 3, 2016 at Woodville Baptist Church. The service will be conducted by Rev. J. K. Farris, Dr. Billy Blakely and Rev. Pete King. Burial will follow in the church cemetery conducted by Rev. Kevin Kilby and Rev. Joe Smith. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Saturday at Moody Funeral Home where his body will remain until carried to the church to lie in state one hour prior to the service.
