Robert Andrew Maddy

Mr. Robert Andrew Maddy, 75, of Dobson, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Willowbrook Rehabilitation and Care Center.  He was born in Rockingham County, VA on April 25, 1943 to the late Frank Madaj and Rose Cizewski Madaj.  Mr. Maddy bravely served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.  Mr. Maddy was a retired electrician from Salem Electric after 40 years of service.  He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Lotts Maddy; a son, Jonathan Maddy and wife Kristy; stepsons, Ashley Pritchard and wife Cheryl, and Sheldon Pritchard; three grandchildren, Lindsay, Alex, and Andrew; three great-grandchildren, Zoey, Ava, and Austin; and two sisters, Dolores Shifflett and Betty Osborne.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Maddy was preceded in death by a brother, Francis Maddy.  No formal visitation or service is planned at this time.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131 or to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030.  Moody Funeral Service in Mount Airy is serving the Maddy family.  Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
