Robert Charles Moore

Mr. Robert Charles Moore, age 72 of Ararat Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Moore was born on December 31, 1952, in Brooklyn, New York to the late Theodore Moore, Sr. and Catherine McCumiskey Moore. Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He served as a Scout Leader and Scout Master, he was active in his church serving as a deacon, usher, communion servant, and Sunday school teacher. He enjoyed many years as a hospital volunteer. Robert will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Surviving is his wife, Marie Hiatt Moore, sons and daughter-in-law, Matthew Moore and Sherri Allen, Michael Moore; one grandson, Richard Honea; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Katarine Jarman and Dale, Barbara Forthofer and Pete; several special nieces and nephews; along with several great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Moore was preceded in death by a brother, Theodore Moore, Jr. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Willow Hill Moravian Church with Reverend Kenny King officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Willow Hill Moravian Church from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice or to Willow Hill Moravian Church, 575 Willow Hill Road, Ararat, Virginia 24053.
