Mr. Robert Monroe Ogle, 82, husband of Mrs. Hazel Walls Ogle, of Woodlawn, passed away on Friday November 21, 2008 at Twin County Regional Hospital with his loving family by his bedside. He was born in Carroll County, Va. on June 10, 1926 to the late John Norman and Ida McMillan Ogle. Mr. Ogle was a retired sawmill worker and was a member of Westside Baptist Church of Hillsville. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he proudly served our country during WWII. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of sixty years, Hazel Walls Ogle of the home; five daughters and a son-in-law Bobbie Easter of Lowgap, Evelyn Cain, Wanda and Dwight Crabb, Kathy "Cat" Ogle and Vickie Ogle all of Mount Airy; two sons and a daughter-in-law Curtis Maynard Ogle of Winchester, Va. and Deanie and Lucy Ogle of Pinnacle; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; a sister Lillian Tolbert of Woodlawn; two brothers and a sister-in-law James Ogle and Lester and Audrey Ogle all of Hillsville and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ogle was preceded in death by a daughter Frances Pack; three brothers Gordon, Henry and Charlie and a son-in-law Dennis Cain. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday November 24, 2008 in the chapel of Moody Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Jones and Rev. Randy Parrish officiating. Burial will follow in Indian Grove Family Cemetery with full military Rites by the Grover King VFW Post 1115 of Hillsville. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM on Sunday at Moody Funeral Home. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Golden Living Nursing Center of Galax for their compassionate care during his stay there .
