Robert Everette Pike

Mr. Robert Everette Pike, 74, of Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday morning, February 24, 2010, at his home. Mr. Pike was born January 16, 1936, in Patrick County, VA, to the late Joseph Daniel and Mary Lovill Pike. He attended Welcome Baptist Church as long as his health permitted. Mr. Pike is survived by a daughter, Dara Pike of the home; two grandchildren, Adriana Velazquez and Kelsey Velazquez, both of the home; a sister and brother-in-law, Dot and Ramon Simmons of Pilot Mountain; three brothers, John Pike and Wayne Pike, both of Mount Airy; and Grady Pike of Greensboro; and special family friends, Caroline Worrell, Nathan Gwyn, Toby Ayers, and Zane Shockley, all of Mount Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Pike was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Ann Adkins Pike; two sisters, Mae "Tootsie Marshall and Frances Pike; three brothers, Roger Pike, Warren Pike, and Stuart Pike; and two infant brothers. The funeral service will be held Friday, February 26, 2010, at 11:00 AM at Welcome Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bailey Elmore officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Welcome Baptist Church.
