Robert Lee Smith

Mr. Robert Lee Smith, age 67 of Ararat, VA passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC. Mr. Smith was born in Patrick Co. VA, September 12, 1940 to the late J.D. and Elvie May Young Smith. He is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Rebecca Tate of Mt. Airy; a son, Brian Lee Smith and fiancee Clara Peeples of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Jessica Ann Tate, Jillian Rose Peeples, Haylee Shae Smith; a sister, Vera Hopkins of High Point and three brothers, James "Ray" Smith, Russell Smith both of Ararat, VA and Clyde "Raymond" Smith of South Plainfield of NJ. In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Goins. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 2, 2008 at the Young Family Cemetery in Ararat, VA by Dr. David Sparks.
