Robert Jeremy Willard

Mr. Robert Jeremy Willard, 19, of Cana, VA, passed away Friday, October 2, 2009, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Jeremy was born October 3, 1989, in Surry County, to Danny James Willard and Joni Woodring Willard. He was a graduate of Carroll County High School and had worked at The Hungry Farmer Restaurant. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Joni and Dennis Rippey of the home; his father, Danny Willard of Mount Airy; a brother, Danny James Willard, II of Portsmouth, VA; two step-sisters, Jessica Edwards and Samantha Rippey, both of Cana, VA; two step-brothers and a sister-in-law, Chris and Tracy Rippey of Mooresville and Jonathan Rippey of Cana, VA; his grandparents, T.J. and Elsie Woodring of High Point and Otis and Frances Willard of Cana, VA; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many cherished friends and co-workers. Jeremy will be deeply missed and will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. Jeremy was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lillian Willard. The funeral service will be held Monday, October 5, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. David "Buster" Sechrist and the Rev. Russell Vass officiating. Burial will follow in the Flower Gap Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
