Robert "Josh" Fariss

Mr. Robert “Josh” Edwin Fariss, age 78, of Mt. Airy, passed away early Friday morning, June 04, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Carroll County on January 17, 1943, to the late Posey Clarence Fariss and Delphia Jane Goad Fariss.  Josh was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be dearly missed.  Josh was a self-employed brick mason for years and was a newspaper carrier for the Mount Airy News and the Winston-Salem Journal.  Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 41 years, Donna Payne Fariss of the home; four daughters, Carolyn Fariss, Teresa Fariss and John Gray, Lisa Carico, and Angie and Jesus Ochoa; two sons, David Fariss, and Chris and Tina Gentry; 14 grandchildren, Lisa, James, Amanda, Matthew, Dylan, Ashley, Kassie, Julie, Shane, Adrianna, Lily, Breana, Brady, and Joshua; 6 great-grandchildren, Kinsley, Breccan, Lleyton, Mariah, Evelynn, and Sophie; two sisters, Dorothy Hill, and Judy Edwards; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Clifford Fariss and Judy Monday, and Bobby and Shelby Fariss; and by several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Josh was preceded in death by a sister, Idell Fariss Browder; and by his stepmother, Gloria Ayers Fariss.  Funeral services will be held Monday, June 7, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy with Rev.
