Robin Earl Smart

         Mr. Robin Earl Smart, age 71 of Stuart, Virginia passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina.  He was born in Patrick County on July 24, 1947, to the late Clarence Thomas Smart and Mamie Williams Smart.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by six brothers, Soanie, Kernie, Darst, Dillard, Nathan, and Elizie Smart; and one sister, Audrey Vernon.  Mr. Smart faithfully served in the United States Army. 

         Mr. Smart is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Edna Martin Smart; two daughters, Cheryl Rorrer and husband, John, and Donice Davenport and husband, Brian; five grandchildren, Heather Sizemore and husband, Adam, Scott Wingfield, Jr., Evie Davenport, Nathan Davenport, and William Davenport; four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Carol Sutphin and husband, Jimmy, Gloria Martin and husband, Johnny, Emma Joy Hicks, and Gay Brown and husband, Frank; one brother, Kirby Smart and wife, Lottie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

         A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2018, at Providence United Methodist Church at 11:00 am with Pastor Keith Vernon officiating.  The Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard will provide military rites.
