Roby Haywood Combs

Mr. Roby Haywood Combs, 63, of 8783 Highway 601, Dobson, passed away Sunday morning, February 15, 2009, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Combs was born November 12, 1945, in Surry County, to the late William Raleigh and Annie Edwards Combs. He was a member of the Baptist faith. Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Rodney William and Stephanie Dollyhigh Combs of Mount Airy and Randy Haywood Combs of Cana, VA; three grandchildren, Dalton Combs, Gage Combs, and April Combs; and four sisters, Lucille Beeson of East Bend, Juanita Hawks of Cana, VA, Frankie D'Amico of Pilot Mountain, and Burnette Brown of East Bend; and a special friend, Lucie Shinault of Mount Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Combs was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Combs; and a brother, Morgan Combs. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 18, 2009, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Verlon Combs, and burial will follow in the Edwards Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 9:30 until the time for the service at the funeral home.
