Roby Lee Goins, Jr

Mr. Roby Lee Goins, Jr., 54, of 202 William Penn Street, Mount Airy, passed away Sunday morning, July 17, 2011, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Goins was born October 1, 1956, in Surry County, the son of Elsie Gladys Edwards Goins and the late Roby Lee Goins, Sr. Roby was a member of Mount Airy Wesleyan Church, a member and past master of Renfro Masonic Lodge #691 AF and AM, a member of the York Scottish Rites, and a member of the Surry Shrine Club. He was a loving fiancé, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle. He is survived by his fiancée, Lori Oates Willis of Mount Airy; two sons, Roby Lee Goins, III and Jonathan Derrick Goins, both of Mount Airy; a daughter-in-law, Kelly McCraw Goins of Mount Airy; three stepchildren, Lindsay Nicole Willis, Zachary Brian Willis, and Morgan Abigail Willis, all of Mount Airy; four grandchildren, Breanna Ollie Goins, Kristin Olivia Goins, Lacy Omelia Goins, and Ariel Elizabeth Willis, all of Mount Airy; his mother, Elsie Gladys Edwards Goins of Mount Airy; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Tony Transou and Bonnie and Don Shelton, all of Mount Airy, and Sandra and Tim Scott of Pinnacle; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved Golden Retriever, Leah Suzanna. In addition to his father, Mr. Goins was preceded in death by a son, Michael Shane Goins. The funeral service will be held Thursday, July 21, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Richard Loman and the Rev. Jimmy Slate officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery, with full Masonic rites by Renfro Masonic Lodge #691 AF and AM. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
