Roby Dee Love

Mr. Roby Dee Love, 89, of 1394 NC 268, Siloam, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2010, at Golden Living Center-Surry Community. He was born December 20, 1920, in Surry County, son of the late Samuel Lee and Annie Elizabeth Hunter Love. He was blessed with "gift of gab". He really loved meeting and talking to people. He had the reputation for knowing everyone in Surry County and could find a way to be "kin" to everyone. He retired as a pipe fitter and welder with ITT Grinnell and was a retired member of the Local 640 Pipe Fitters and Welders. He was also a retired farmer and a member of Friendly Chapel Church. Surviving are his wife,Charlotte "Dimple" Bowman Love of Richfield Nursing Center in Salem, VA; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael Dee "Mike" and Barbara Griffin Love of Siloam; a granddaughter and her husband, Lisa and Sam Josey of Siloam; a grandson and his wife, Yogi and Melinda Love of Siloam; a stepdaughter and her husband, Barbara and Bobby Walters of Roanoke, VA; a stepson and his wife, Ernie and Cathy Moore of King; two stepgranddaughters and their husbands, Heather and Mike Bramlett of Roanoke, VA, and Cindy and Todd Griffin of High Point; two stepgrandsons and their wives, Ernie Moore, Jr. and Susie Moore of Virginia Beach, VA, and Jamie and Kelynda Moore of King; and several step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Albert Clayborn "A.C" Love of Siloam; two special nieces, Michelle Love Keenan and Sandy Love Nowlin, both of Siloam; and several other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Love was preceded in death by three brothers, Hal Love, Hassell Love, and Gaston Love. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Brother Don Collins officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a "special thanks" to the caregivers at Rose Tara Assisted Living in King, the caregivers at Golden Living Center, and Pa's "special hospice angels."
