Rocky Feller Golding, Sr.

Rocky Feller Golding, Sr., 63, of Mount Airy, passed away at home early Saturday July 27th. Rocky was born to the late Clay Golding and Clara Grimes Golding on November 11, 1960, in Low Gap, NC. Rocky worked for years as a construction superintendent and as a free-lance contractor. He loved to build porches, decks, trim, refurbish furniture, and making homes look beautiful. He loved his family, telling stories, staying in touch, his sister’s cooking, cookouts, buying and selling cars, and making deals. Rocky is survived by his mother, Clara Golding; his siblings: Mary Ann Tate, Leona Moore, Bobby Golding, David Golding, Vickie Moore, Dana Edwards, Mike Golding, and Jody Golding. He was preceded in death by his father Clay Golding, and brother Randy. He was beloved by and devoted to his three children: Myranda Golding, Rockelle Golding, and Rocky Golding Jr. He had six grandchildren: Brandon, Zach, Shyanne, Blake, Isaiah, Derrick and two Great-Grandchildren: Major and Emerson. A memorial service will be held at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy (206 W Pine Street in Mount Airy) at 1:00pm on Tuesday, July 30th with service conducted by Rev. Peter Hausmann. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the time for the service at the funeral home.
