Rodney Reginald Ratcliff

Mr. Rodney “Rod” Reginald Ratcliff, 60, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday night, December 14, 2019 surrounded by his loving family at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  Rod was born in Surry County on November 2, 1959 to Patricia “Pat” Yvonne Jones Ratcliff and the late Donald Eugene Ratcliff.  Mr. Ratcliff was of the Baptist faith and was a loving son, brother, and uncle who will be forever missed.  Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Pat Ratcliff; a sister, Alisa Ratcliff Hutson; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Randy Ratcliff, and Rondale and Susan Ratcliff; nieces and nephews, Corey and Kristal Bledsoe, Brandi and Travis Anders, Mandi and Adam Hiatt, Jenna Ratcliff, Halee Ratcliff, Emma Ratcliff, Alexis Ratcliff, Caden Ratcliff, and Apple Ratcliff; several great nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Debbie Haynes.  In addition to his father, Mr. Ratcliff was preceded in death by a niece, Carrie Bledsoe; and two nephews, Dustin Ratcliff and Anthony Ratcliff.  The funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Midway Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Phillips officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday night at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.  The family would like to express a special thanks to aunts Peggy Rierson and Bonnie Mannon, the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care and to the staff of the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home for all of the love and care given to Rod and the family during his illness.  Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, North Carolina 27017.
