Roger Dale Allen

Mr. Roger Dale Allen, 51, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2006, at his home. Mr. Allen was born February 18, 1955, in Surry County, to Latney Gid and Opal Elizabeth Bowman Allen. He was a loving father and grandfather. He is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Misty and Chad Quesinberry of the home, and Melissa and Andy Crotts and Olivia Allen and friend, Grant Golding, all of Cana, VA; five grandchildren, Brooklyn Grace Crotts, Isaac Andrew Crotts, Laken Elizabeth Allen, Nathan Daniel Melton, and Kaitlan Alexandra Allen; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Brenda A. and Robert T. Smith, Jr., Patricia A. Childress, Elaine and Vestal Hardy, and Vicky Sue Allen, all of Mount Airy; and three brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronnie and Brenda Allen, Gary and Shirley Allen, and Randy and Melody Allen, all of Mount Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Allen was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jo Pruitt; an infant sister; and a nephew, Randall Wesley Allen. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 10, 2006, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Dwight Sechrist and the Rev. Emmett Crotts. Burial will follow in the Red Bank Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
