Roger Lewis Berrier

Mr. Roger Lewis Berrier, 57, of 134 West Elm Street, Mount Airy, passed away early Tuesday morning, July 24, 2012, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mr. Berrier was born February 20, 1955, in Surry County, the son of Lewis Roger Berrier and the late Mazie Madgelene Edwards Berrier. Roger was a truck driver at Mabe Trucking Company and attended New Beginnings Community Church in Cana, VA. He is survived by his wife, Selena Jones Berrier of the home; a son, Justin Berrier of Winston-Salem; his father and stepmother, Lewis Roger and Mary Towe Smith Berrier of Cana, VA; three sisters, Kathy Mabe and her husband, Robert, of Galax, VA, Robin Lyons of Cana, VA, and Cindy Parker and her son, Gabriel, of Cana, VA; and two beloved pet Boxers, Jake and Maggie. In addition to his mother, Mr. Berrier was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Gary Lyons. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 26, 2012, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Wes Mosteller officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home, and other times at the home of Robin Lyons, 2991 Flower Gap Road, Cana, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
